MOTHERSHIP

A Samhain Forest Mushroom Retreat

Oct 29 – Nov 2, 2026

Woodbourne, new york

Earth is the original Mothership.

From her we came. To her we return.

As the veil between worlds grows thin and the leaves fall back to the Earth, we gather to honor the ancestors, enter into ritual communion with the living world, and remember our original Mothership —
the Earth.

Enter an immersive ceremonial portal of wild and embodied magic, ancestral invocation, ancient rituals, and mycelial wizardry. Together, through the wisdom of the body and the living Earth, we'll awaken the intelligence that has always lived beneath our feet, and lived within us.

A creative collaboration brought to you by Anam Cara Retreats, Bear House Collective, and Entheos Holistics

Before we journey with our original ancestors, the mushrooms, we'll journey deep down through the landscape of the body.

Here, the body is not something to transcend, but something to remember and explore. A living landscape and microcosm of the Earth herself. During Samhain, as the veil between worlds grows thin and the Earth turns inward, we enter one of the oldest ceremonial thresholds of the year. A sacred portal to honor our ancestors and remember the living intelligence of death, rebirth, and renewal. Through movement, play, breath, somatic practice, and the wisdom of the seven directions and five elements, we'll awaken the innate intelligence already woven in our bones.

As we prepare to journey alongside our mycelial relatives, we'll remember that the greatest Mothership we'll ever travel through is the one we've been living in all along.

These practices create a holy and fertile ground for playful, potent ceremony, weaving an embodied map to carry the wisdom home into all of our creations and relations.

Crossing the threshold and returning to
right relationship.

Somewhere along the way, we forgot that we belong to the Earth… not as visitors, but as part of her.

We forgot that the body itself is nature. That death is a sacred part of life. That our ancestors and unseen guides continue to shape us through relationship. That intelligence exists beyond the thinking mind.

The deepest medicine isn't found in a mushroom. It's found in what the mushroom remembers, and helps us reawaken to.

That gnosis that the Earth is alive, that every forest is an ongoing conversation, that every mycelial network is built through living relationship, and that every ceremony is an invitation back into the dance of aliveness.

Mothership isn't a retreat from the outer world. It's a ritual playhouse where reverence meets revelry, where beauty and grief feast on the same fire, where ancient ceremony meets wild embodiment, and mystery, mischief, and the unseen are welcomed as honored guests.

Come not only to heal. Come to feast, wander, play, grieve, sing, dance, and remember that the world needs you (and your magic) feral, enchanted, and fully alive.

The Land That will Hold our coven

A hidden forest sanctuary on 120 acres of ancient Catskills forest…

Within the Sanctuary

Where autumn mist drifts across rolling forest hills, we gather beneath star-filled skies, and winding trails amongst ancient maple trees…. At its heart stands the Mothership - a soaring geodesic temple tucked among the trees, where ceremony, movement, music, mycelial magic, and myth come alive. This is more than the place we'll just gather for retreat. Our sanctuary is a landscape that invites forest wandering, witchcraft, wonder, and a deep remembering of what it means to belong to the Earth. Here, the Catskill forest is more than a backdrop, it is the oldest member and most important member of our coven.

Our space features:

  • 120 acres of ancient forest

  • Sacred Mothership temple

  • Geodesic domes

  • Cozy luxury woodland cabins with private and shared rooms

  • Cedar sauna & cold plunge

  • Bonfire gathering spaces

  • Winding forest trails

  • Gong & sound bath temple

  • Seasonal, delicious, and organic communal feasts

  • Private swimming pond

  • Expansive starry night skies

For thousands of years before these forests became a place of retreat, this landscape was part of the ancestral homelands of the Lenape-Munsee people, stewards of the Rondout Valley whose lives were shaped by the forests, waterways, changing seasons, and the rhythms of the Earth. We enter this land with reverence, recognizing that we gather upon an ancient landscape that has held countless generations of stories, ceremonies, migrations, and prayers. We come not to recreate those traditions, but to reawaken and remember our own responsibility to walk in right relationship.

Throughout our weekend together, the land itself becomes one of our greatest teachers. Guided by the wisdom of the seven directions, we'll orient ourselves to Earth below, sky above, the four cardinal directions, and the living center within. We'll build ancestral altars, tend ceremonial fires, and descend into an extraordinary ancient glacial cave where a spring still flows through stone shaped over millions of years — a sacred grotto that spans the vastness of both geological and human time.

We can’t wait to meet you there.

Meet Your Guides

Francesca Barone

Founder of Anam Cara Healing Retreats

Francesca is an ancestral healing practitioner, trauma-informed somatic guide, and co-founder of Anam Cara Healing Retreats, where she has spent the past seven years in devoted relationship with ancestral Amazonian Shipibo healers while guiding hundreds of people through profound emotional, somatic, and spiritual transformation.

Her work weaves together indigenous plant medicine, earth-based ritual, feminine and masculine embodiment work, classical tantra, therapeutic relationship work, shamanic arts, breathwork, and nervous system-informed healing to help people reawaken their inner power, return to their own gnosis, cultivate their unique medicine, and remember the Earth-based wisdom that modern life has led us to forget.

Deeply influenced by her years of study with Gabor Maté, John Wineland, and Nina Lombardo, Francesca is known for creating ceremonial spaces that are both exquisitely safe and wildly alive. She believes transformation doesn't happen through transcendence, but through becoming intimate with every part of ourselves—the grief and the beauty, the rage and the tenderness, the mystery and the magnificent ordinariness of being human.

For Mothership, Francesca brings her devotion to ancestral remembrance, earth-based wisdom, embodied initiation, and the forgotten art of living in right relationship — with the land, with community, with the unseen, and with the untamed intelligence that lives within us all.

Jessa Lin

Founder of Bear House Collective

Jessa Lin Rose is a shamanic and Akashic arts practitioner, plant medicine facilitator, somatic guide, and founder of Bear House Collective. For over a decade, she has devoted herself to the healing arts, weaving together shamanic wisdom, Akashic work, plant medicine, somatic practices, and nervous system-informed facilitation to guide people into deeper relationship with themselves.

Her work is rooted in a body-first approach, recognizing the body as our greatest teacher and living map. Inspired by the elements, the four directions, and Earth-based wisdom, Jessa has developed a unique methodology that views the human body as a microcosm of the Earth itself — each layer holding its own seasons, landscapes, intelligence, and medicine. Rather than bypassing the body in search of spiritual awakening, her work invites people to deepen into embodiment, allowing healing, intuition, and transformation to emerge from within.

A 500-hour E-RYT Yoga Teacher, Trauma & Brain Sensitivity-Informed Practitioner, Master Practitioner of Neuro-Linguistic Programming, and longtime apprentice in the Shamanic and Akashic Arts, Jessa creates spaces that are both deeply intuitive and exceptionally grounded.

Known for bridging the mystical with the practical, she helps people cultivate greater self-trust, embodied leadership, and authentic expression, translating profound spiritual experiences into lasting transformation through nervous system regulation, somatic integration, and intentional action.

At the heart of everything Jessa offers is a simple belief: when we learn to listen to the wisdom of our own bodies, we remember that we are not separate from nature — we are nature.

Meet Xander or Zen - Your mushroom cultivator, co-facilitator and intergalactic trail guide. Fluent in the multidimensional language of these mycelial maestros, Zen has spent the entirety of his adult life cultivating a deeply profound relationship with this fungal intelligence - one that shows up in ways that are simply beyond words. This remarkable relationship offers uniquely insightful tools that help guide people deeper into communion with the wisdom of the mushrooms… and wise mushrooms they are indeed. Cultivated through deep devotion and meticulous precision, every detail of their existence is tended tenderly, wholeheartedly and intentionally. Clean organic ingredients, hand written affirmations lovingly inscribed on every label, and an omnipresent soundscape of healing instruments and frequencies played to them through their entire life cycle… these are simply and humbly… the best mushrooms the world has to offer.

Tyler Drake

Founder of The Ascension Project

Tyzen Drake is the founder of The Ascension Project, a facilitator, coach, and community builder devoted to helping people remember who they are and bring that remembrance into the way they live. His work bridges consciousness, purpose, and embodied transformation, creating spaces where profound experiences become lasting ways of being.

For Tyzen, a journey is only as good as the life it seeds afterward. His gift is helping an experience become more than a beautiful memory — becoming a blueprint you continue living long after the ceremony has ended. Through presence, community, and deep listening, he guides hearts and minds into greater coherence with the lessons, and (b)lessons, of ourselves, our relationships, and the medicine.

What draws people to Tyzen is simple: he genuinely believes in the more whole version of you that this work reveals, and he has a rare gift for holding a room as though he already sees it. For Mothership, he brings his devotion to integration, sacred community, and ensuring the magic of the weekend continues long after we leave the forest.
